Formerly a schoolhouse, and then a church, this historic Sullivan’s Island landmark was transformed into a high-end residential development. Working closely with the design team, we developed a vision of transforming the existing structure into 4 residences that pay homage to the building’s history. Existing interior walls were abandoned in order to allow us to design interiors that feel free and open, taking advantage of the natural light provided by the large existing window openings. All of the units were designed to have at least 3 bedrooms and bathrooms, including expansive master suites, allowing the residences to comfortably serve as family homes or island retreats. The landscape design includes a private courtyard and off-street parking for each residence as well as a shared pool and grand lawn facing Middle Street.
